[One of our resident school teachers has just finished one of those important household tasks we must all face: grocery shopping. Of course, it's not so much shopping as stocking, considering the lack of a cash register in every store. Gelda's making her way back to her house, carrying two large bags filled to the brim with an assortment of groceries. Are they heavy? Yes. Yes, they are. She isn't going to complain, but if one were to offer her a hand, she wouldn't say no.

Now, I'd like to announce our new school project. You will be graded for this, of course, but most of all it is a learning experience. All the practical knowledge you gain may very well be put to use in the future. You see...
[She reaches down to pick up a small basket, placing it on the desk before her. What's inside the basket, you wonder? It's eggs. A lot of them. They aren't boiled or anything of the sort.]
For an entire week, you all will be proud parents. These [she indicates the eggs again.] will be your frail, loved children. You may name them, dress them or even try to feed them. As long as your child is still in one piece next Thursday, you pass the project. Of course, one can never become a parent on their own, which is why I've taken the liberty of assigning you all a partner. Both of you will have to cooperate and take it in turns to care for your baby. That is the trick behind parenting, after all. Stella, already being a proud mother herself, is exempt from the project and will be giving a guest lecture early next week.
When I call your names, you will come forth and take one 'child' out of the basket. Once you've all had your turn, I'd like you to take a while to get to know your partner better and make some agreements on the ways you feel this project should be handled.
( The happy couples )
Any questions? If not, feel free to start planning child care with your partner. You have fifteen minutes.
[[OOC: The pairings were randomly selected by me, mostly according to age. Whenever there was a third person left in one of the categories, they'd be placed with one of the younger couples in that same category. If I forgot your character, or you see any mistakes, let me know!]]

[As promised, here's the big start of the new schoolyear action post! Students, feel free to comment here. Characters can interact before or after taking the big test, either in the hallway or the classroom. Heck, you can even post about what your character is doing during the test. Are they cheating by trying to glance at their neighbour's paper, or perhaps sharpening their pencil so fervently there soon won't be anything left? Do they burst into the room, ten minutes late? You name it. Bear in mind, after taking the test your character is forced to leave the room and wait for classmates in the hallway.
Basically, have fun with this and if you need the teacher's help for something, simply ask for it.]

[Considering it's such a nice day outside, Gelda has taken a chair and is sitting in the shade in front of house #27. She found an interesting book in the library to waste some time with. You can tell her attention isn't quite on the pages, though. Feel free to bug her, considering she hasn't been around all too much these past few weeks.]

I faintly remember someone asking about Father's Day last month. In case they're still interested, it's supposedly set on the third Sunday of June. In this case, that would be next Sunday; the 21st. It has the same basic principle as Mother's Day, really. Pay an homage to your father, by giving him a present or simply spending a bit more time with him.
Troublesome holiday in a place like Luceti, but keeping one's parents in mind should be enough to pay them your respects.

[Written]
According both the calendar and my memory from last year, it seems today is Mother's Day. A wonderful way to pay homage to those who gave birth to us, even if they aren't with us right now. Were it not for them, we wouldn't even be here today. I'm sure this applies not only to biological mothers, but virtually any mother figure in your life.
Now that a lot of this month's New Feathers have started getting settled, I hope to see the younger ones attending school soon. Participation isn't obligatory, of course. However, I find that the classes are always worthwhile. There isn't a day when I don't learn more interesting tidbits about other worlds. Of course, aside from students, we're also more than willing to accept new teachers at any time.

[If Gelda's housemate were to take a peek inside her room, he'd find her sitting on the bed, a faint smile tugging at her lips. She's looking at the Mother's Day card Chrome gave her last year.
And of course, anyone else is free to visit if they feel the need to bother her.]

Only a few days have passed, but it seems the list of current kidnappings needs to be updated already. All those who've been returned since last time have been crossed out and a few additions have been made. Please offer your assistance and let me know if you have anything to add, or any comments to make. I'm sure there are names I've missed, after all.
( The current list )
To those of you who were acquainted with Chrome, I fear she will not be returning to the village. All her belongings have gone, leading me to believe she's been sent home. This also leaves me without a housemate.
Lastly, I have a request related to the local school. If there is anyone in the village who has experience with this, would they consider a job as teacher?

Considering the sudden increase in kidnappings and other disappearances, I believe it best to keep track of all the victims. We'll need to make sure the clinic has a sufficient amount of medication and other supplies when these people are all returned to the village. Therefore, I ask you all to leave a comment with the name of anyone you know who has gone missing. I've already gone through a few previous entries to gather names, but I'm sure there's a lot of things I've missed. I know that there is a chance some of these people may have been sent home, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Please offer your cooperation, for the sake of those who were kidnapped as well as your own.

This sudden increase of kidnappings is certainly troublesome. I believe now would be the best time for anyone who's interested in volunteering at the clinic to rise to the challenge. When these victims are returned by the Malnosso, they will require medical attention, after all.

[there's a thud, accompanied by the crunching of snow. A pained groan follows. Gelda's been returned, drifting on the verge of consciousness.]

[Gelda's voice sounds pretty stressed, and half-whispered]
I don't mean to cause alarm, but-
[Footsteps, then sounds of a struggle. Finally...]
Agh!
[Aaand static.]

It looks like everything has returned to normal again. That's certainly good news. While the various creatures were interesting to watch, I prefer seeing more humanoid residents in the village.
Now that the experiment has passed, I hope to see all students in the school again. I also suggest that you practice your math skills thoroughly. There may or may not be a surprise test somewhere this week. If I were to ascertain that fact, though, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore, now would it?
If anyone feels they need additional tutoring because they missed a few classes, or simply didn't dare to admit their confusion in front of their friends, let me know. I am quite willing to teach some more in my spare time.

This village-wide memory loss is very concerning, to say the least. If there is anyone who does remember the last few days, I would enjoy hearing about it. As for me, I am left with a rather hazy recollection, just as most of you are experiencing.
Feel free to visit the clinic if you are still feeling groggy. A check-up never hurt anyone, after all.

Oh my. It seems that the well on the eastern side of the village has been destroyed. That's a shame. The Malnosso will likely get around to fixing this, but in the meanwhile I hope no one has gotten too attached to tossing coins down there, in hopes of having their wishes fulfilled.
... I wonder what caused it to collapse like this.

Those Malnosso... It seems they've caused quite an uproar. One can only hope this chaos won't lead to injuries. People are known to lose their calm more easily when the dead are involved.
These spirits must be hallucinations. While the Malnosso are quite capable of reviving the dead, it seems like these beings are completely without a physical body alltogether. Such a thing is impossible. Adding to that, it seems they've retained their mortal wounds, meaning they shouldn't be alive at all. Then there's the fact that the usual time for New Feather arrivals ended four days ago.
I ask of you all not to get too captivated by this experiment. Enjoy spending time with your loved ones if it eases your conscience, but keep in mind that their stay is only temporary.

To everyone who is experiencing this sudden loss of feathers; please remain calm. While it is certainly foreboding, it hasn't proven itself to be harmful either. If those in the village are experiencing any discomfort, report to the clinic immediately. The more we know about this phenomenon, the better.
Let us pray that both exploration parties will return home soon.

Oh my, such a large number of new arrivals, all of a sudden. As far as I can recall, there weren't quite this many last month. The Malnosso might be planning something. It would be best for us to keep our guards up.
Luckily, I have finally managed to get a firm grip on the Filial healing magic. Though it is still far from the curative power I used to have, this is always better than nothing. I will continue to lend my aid to the clinic, as there can never be enough healers.

I must apologize for my behavior a few days ago. I am aware that it was the experiment that affected my behavior, but I feel that I might have offended a few people. I would like to express my gratitude to miss Karen, for knocking me unconscious. The bump on my head will be a nice reminder of how not to act.
Chrome, are you alright? You haven't been affected by all this, have you?

[low chuckling]
Fools. All of you are fools, to think you can escape your fate. We will find you and we will end you. There is no mercy for the ignorant.
[sudden footsteps]
You. The rebel. What are you-
Aaaaagh!
[[OOC: Knocked out and detained by Karen. ^^']]

My, it looks like most of the chaos has died down. So this is what one of the Malnosso's experiments looks like. I wish they could all be so harmless. Next time, we might not be so lucky.
Saphir, how have you been faring? We still need to meet.
